President Obama has been taking a lot of heat this week for a comment he made about spending money in Las Vegas.

The president said during a town hall meeting in New Hampshire, while discussing the need of the government to curb spending during tough economic times, "When times are tough, you tighten your belts. You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college."

Unless you live under a rock, you know that comment about Vegas, the president's second in a year, has effectively made him persona non grata in "Sin City."

The question is, is what the president said wrong?

If the president would have left out the word "Vegas," do you think his comment would have been seen as more favorable?

Isn't overspending, careless spending and mis-spending something we, and our government, should be striving to avoid and stop?
