This July marked my seventh year working at WITN and on WITN News at Sunrise. This July also began a new chapter for my husband and me. It was the month we learned we are going to have a baby! Chris and I have been on cloud nine ever since and are so excited about becoming parents. We are so thrilled to be starting a family in Eastern Carolina. We got married in October 2007 and are ready for the fun and the challenges parenthood has in store for us!
I am now into my second trimester, with the baby due in March. The biggest question people seem to have so far, after asking when the due date is, is whether the baby is a boy or a girl. Chris and I have decided that we are not going to find out the sex of the baby. We'll be decorating the nursery in neutral tones and will be just praying for a healthy child.
Fortunately, I have not had to fight morning sickness. Can you imagine a morning show anchor having to go through that? Yikes! One of the first things I learned about morning sickness is that it can strike any time of day, not just before noon. So far, so good, though! There is a bit of a joke developing about how I nibble on celery during commercial breaks to appease my sometimes insatiable appetite.
It feels great to let everyone in on this big news, especially since my tummy is starting to get bigger! We'll be working on some reports about pregnancy and parenting in the coming months as we look forward to the baby's arrival in March.
