Harmless Fun Or Serious Lapse In Judgment

Future doctors talking about getting high, posting patient details on Facebook, pulling a prank with a cadaver...is it acceptable behavior?

A new medical school survey in the Journal of the American Medical Association finds that SOME future doctors are getting into trouble for their unprofessional writings and postings online.

The study's lead author says the examples cited above are only "the tip of the iceberg."

A quick search of YouTube finds numerous videos posted by medical students, from harmless musical numbers to a prank with what appears to be a dead body. The study's author says there's no way to tell whether the cadaver prank is real or not. But either way, she says, it doesn't reflect well on the medical profession.

What do you think?  Are med students entitled to a little college fun like other students, or is what's reported in this study crossing the line?

Laughter is the best medicine, however at the right times, not too sure if playing with a cadaver is funny! I think it is disrespectful. I know that with my husband being in law enforcement he see's things that are difficult to deal with so he jokes and laughs about it to get through it, this may be the case with these med students. My hats off to all Medical personal, Nurses, Doctors, Surgeons, ect. I could not do it. They all see so much and deal with so much, laughing is probaly the only thing that keeps them sane through it all!!! GOD Bless Them!!!

We all need time to kick back and enjoy life now and then...can't take life too serious 100% of the time.
