I hope you had a chance to see tonight's Player of The Week report featuring 16 year-old Washington High School volleyball player Haley Hiatt.
Hiatt was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease about a year ago. She confronted the challenges of battling cancer and got the good news last November that she was cancer free.
Through it all, Haley maintained her sense of optimism and sense of humor. That's a tough thing for anyone to do who faces such adversity, let alone a teenager. She's now out on the court for a new season.
Haley told me she learned many life lessons during her ordeal. "I learned a lot about life and trying to live your life to the fullest. Start caring more about other people and not about yourself."
It seems to me that Haley's battle and insight can provide some life lessons for all of us!
