I couldn't help but reflect Monday on the coverage of the 40th anniversary of man landing on the moon as a moment when America was truly on top of the world.
I was only two years-old back in 1969, so I don't have a recollection of the moon landing as it was happening. From what I have read and watched, that moment in history was one of our finest. It was a great accomplishment. It was something to give Americans a sense of pride. It was another feather in our cap to solidify our status as the greatest nation on Earth.
What monumental events do you think we have had since that July day forty years-ago? What do you look at as watershed moments for the U.S. since 1969...moments of national pride and inspiration that brought our country together and showed all the world what it means to be an American?
What do you think was America's last great moment?
