The story about the season being cancelled for the Northside baseball team in Beaufort County after some team members threw baseballs out of an activity bus is generating quite a bit of reaction.
The school system says several players were involved in the incident on May 4th that left one person with minor injuries. The school superintendent then decided to cancel the season.
The school system has not told us the exact number of players involved. We don't know if it was two, three, ten, fifteen, or more. We do know that the sheriff's office also is investigating. It is possible that charges could be filed against those who were involved.
Two main themes seem to be emerging from commenters to this story on our homepage. There are those who are applauding the superintendent for taking a tough stance and teaching the entire team a lesson by cancelling the season. And there are those who say the superintendent is wrong for punishing the entire team for the actions of a few, questioning what message that kind of logic sends.
What do you think is appropriate? Punish everyone for the actions of some, or only hold those responsible accountable for their actions?
