Protest Over Obama Notre Dame Speech

President Obama is scheduled to deliver the commencement address at Notre Dame this spring and not everyone is happy about that.

Well over 100,000 people have signed a petition to the catholic university's president, upset over the decision to invite the president to speak.

Those who are upset cite his pro-choice stance and his decision to funnel federal dollars for stem-cell research.

A White House official says, "While the president is honored to have the support of millions of people of all faiths, including Catholics with their rich tradition of recognizing the dignity of people, he does not govern with the expectation that everyone sees eye to eye with him on every position, and the spirit of debate and healthy disagreement on important issues is part of what he loves about this country."

Protesters are asking the university to, in effect, un-invite President Obama.

What do you think Notre Dame should do?

I think Notre Dame should remain true to their faith. 100,000 signatures should tell the University President something.

Does ND receive any federal funds? Why? Does not seperation of church and state still hold true? Would all these Catholic protestors agree with cutting all federal funds to ND if Obama is not allowed to speak? Of course not! They are just like the others who hate goverment, regulation, or any type of so called government intrusion: GIVE US THE MONEY BUT LEAVE US ALONE!

Not a Christian nation anymore, a one world government/currency, no more 'war on terror', no more 'enemy combatants', ties to felons and domestic terrorist, spending more money than all presidents combined, etc..... Boy we're on a roll now. Right down the toilet. Thankyou obama supporters for voting for the downfall of our nation. You were told over and over what would happen.

It is ashamed that Notre Dame, which uses the same federal funds that pay for abortions, which invited and accepted a former POTUS who did nothing to stem the Right to Abortion and protected it, would actually give ear to this type of protest. God is above this petty mess, and so should "so-called" Christians who have a strong tendancy to judge others when admonished not to judge others.
