A Text Message Costs How Much?

Some say though it costs you just pennies, the actual cost of sending a text message makes it the most expensive form of communication.

NBC affiliate KXAS-TV had an interesting story this week, about the cost of text messaging. Text messages may cost you ten or twenty cents each to send, but if you are a prolific text messager, you probably have a plan that covers several hundred texts for a fixed price.  In comparison to everything else on  your cell phone bill, text messages may not seem like a lot of money, but some say the actual cost of sending a text message makes it the most expensive form of communication.

Cali Lewis of Greekbrief.TV says the amount of data being transferred is so minimal, that twenty cents per text is a ridiculous amount of money.  "If I was to download a song, and a song is about four megabytes, using the same calculations, it would cost me $6,000."

Knowing how much text messages cost you to send compared to how little the cost the phone companies, will send fewer texts?

$30 for Unlimited family txt. If you rarely txt then there is no need. Calculate the individual cost to your normal use to see whats right. If you get out of control one month, call before your cycle is over and have them BACKDATE IT, and drop it the next month haha. but ALWAYS keep an eye on it if you do not have unlimited
