The Phelps Debate

What do you think about the picture that's caused so much controversy?

I've gotta say, seeing is believing and unfortunately for Michael Phelps people seeing him smoking something out of a long glass tube has caused him to lose respect by many along with sponsors and 3 months of professional swimming.

It's such a wild world we live in today isn't it?  We live in a world where in a split second, something we do or say can be recorded by a plethora of devices.  Camera phones, video cameras you name it...if you do something you don't want others to see and the wrong person gets ahold of the evidence, your reputation is on the line.

It's astonishing how one photo has really made a world of difference for this amazing swimmer.   Everyone was mesmerized this summer by how talented and fast he was in the water, and now people are fixated on this picture.

What do you think?  Do you think Michael Phelps is getting what he deserves or is the public being too hard on the young man?

I believe that marijuana is harmless. According to the picture it looked like Michael was having responsible fun. I PREFER to know it was marijuana and not a hard drug like cocaine or crack. I'm okay with this drug of choice.

Exactly allison, half of the people condemning him are crackheads, that includes that joke of an olympic committee. This is the age of a camera in everything. The only difference between Phelps and the rest of atheletes in the world is someone got video. Shucks, the president has even smoked a doobie before, we are not throwing him out of office, and he is raping the country right now.

I think the media needs to leave the kid alone. He is paying for his mistake. Let it go amd move on.
