They say "clothes make the man," but many people were much more focused on what First Lady Michelle Obama wore on the day her husband was inaugurated.
The first lady chose two designers who live in America for her ensembles, though aides said she had several outfits and gowns to choose from Tuesday. Her yellow daytime outfit was designed by Isabel Toledo, and her white evening gown was designed by Jason Wu.
Not that my opinion matters, but I definitely enjoyed the daytime outfit. The green shoes and gloves were an unexpected but much-appreciated surprise. I respect the first lady's fashion-forward choice of evening gowns. If I had to choose between Mrs. Obama's gown and Dr. Jill Biden's gown, I would choose the latter as my favorite.
According to Robin Givhan, Washington Post Fashion Editor, Mrs. Obama pays for all of her own clothes, including Tuesday's outfits.
So, if you have an opinion on what Mrs. Obama wore, I'm all ears.
