What Michelle Wore

Let's hear it. What did you think about First Lady Michelle Obama's Inauguration Day wardrobe choices?

They say "clothes make the man," but many people were much more focused on what First Lady Michelle Obama wore on the day her husband was inaugurated.

The first lady chose two designers who live in America for her ensembles, though aides said she had several outfits and gowns to choose from Tuesday.  Her yellow daytime outfit was designed by Isabel Toledo, and her white evening gown was designed by Jason Wu.

Not that my opinion matters, but I definitely enjoyed the daytime outfit.  The green shoes and gloves were an unexpected but much-appreciated surprise.  I respect the first lady's fashion-forward choice of evening gowns.  If I had to choose between Mrs. Obama's gown and Dr. Jill Biden's gown, I would choose the latter as my favorite.

According to Robin Givhan, Washington Post Fashion Editor, Mrs. Obama pays for all of her own clothes, including Tuesday's outfits.

So, if you have an opinion on what Mrs. Obama wore, I'm all ears.

I can't believe you people! Oh course she is not jackie.. she is michelle.. she has her own style and if she cared about what people thought she would have asked for your opinions. Its not about the clothes.. its all about the color of her husband's skin.. get used to it.. he is here to stay! Say it loud.. we're black and we're proud!!

Cindy, the grandmother came along because of her grand children. I do not blame the Obama's for inviting grandma. I would have done the same. Go Obamas'!

Who cares what she wore. She could have gone to any department store and picked out something worth wearing. I guess she is trying to save the taxpayers some money since we the taxpayers of the good ole USA will be paying for her mother to live in the White House. Did the mother live with the Obama's in Chicago?????????? If not why now?????? Free housing.

Some of you are missing the point. The title of the blog is "What Michelle Wore". It has nothing to do with her personality or the fact that she is the first black first lady. Those are topics for another blog. Most of us enjoy fashion and were commenting on the clothes, NOT the woman. HE is my president, and SHE is my new first lady, and I embrace that. I'm just saying Mrs. Obama needs some advice on fashion.

Who cares what she had on? All I care about is what her husband is going to do in office. Can he get us out of this recession? That's what I care about.

The gown could have been better. It was a pretty soft color though. Give her time she will find her fashion sense. She has four years to do it in.
