My Pug Sam is getting his mug on TV to wish you a Merry Christmas.
Sam is appearing in my Christmas greeting this year. And it's very appropriate considering that Sam was a Christmas present from my wife and kids three years ago.
They told me they were going to Raleigh to do some Christmas shopping in 2005. They said I didn't have to go if I didn't want to. They of course didn't want me to go and knew I would say, "O.K. I'll stay home." Their plan was coming together just they way they wanted.
They headed out, not for Raleigh, but for Greensboro and the Pug Rescue of North Carolina. PRONC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the Pug dog breed. The group rescues Pugs in crisis and nurses them back to health until a suitable home can be found. The home they found for Sam was mine.
On this particular weekend in 2005 my wife and kids went to pick up Sam and surprise me.
As you'll see in the greeting, Sam has brought great joy to me, my family, and all who come in contact with him. He turned out to be a great surprise and Christmas present.
