Enough Of The Serious Stuff

The bailout, record Wall Street loss, gas prices, politics...got a headache yet!

There's no doubt there are quite a few serious and important issues facing our country.  And they all need to be addressed.  But sometimes we all need to just take a break from all the madness.

I have the perfect fix.  Take some time this weekend and head to the North Carolina Seafood Festival in Morehead City.

The weather looks like it will be perfect, there will be plenty of booths selling N.C. Seafood and there will be free entertainment.  And while there will be a lot for you to spend your money on...at least you'll be enjoying yourself.

WITN is an official sponsor of the event.  I'll be there Friday night at the WITN tent so make sure you stop by and say hello.

Take some time to relax this weekend and enjoy some of the goodness our state has to offer.  The serious stuff will be there when you return.

Yep - the Festival was a nice escape from all the bad news the media has been feeding us of late. I have to agree that, way back in 1999 when all the changes started things were on a slippery slope. A mortgage approval based on "stated" income was dangerous at best. Oh well, the festival was fun and so what if the seafood there is a little pricey - you can pick whom you want to support and buy from their tent! Logan's is there anytime you want to go..........

I think the banks got exactly what they deserved. The fat cat CEOs and CFOs need to pony up their salaries and savings to bail it out as do their board members. They got themselves in this. My credit card bills are more than I can stand, maybe I can get congress to bail me out? I doubt it, I'm white middle class male, the worst thing you can possibly be in America today! My son and wife tried to purchase a "fixer upper" for 28 grand because that was what they could afford. They were declined by Bleeeeeeep, but then they told them if it were new they would approve him for a 105 grand house on 23 grand income. You ask me, the banks are in this bind because their decision makers are idiots. Nice weather and a Nine-dollar shrimp burger will not fix my 401-K. Im going to falls lake! 15 bucks, serenety, sounds of nature, and a campfire-thats the perfect fix. Not 20000 people crammed in 6 blocks paying for a sandwich and drink what I can get a steak and beer for at Logans.
