If I was President...

If I was President the first thing I would do would be to...

Many times when we look at the state of affairs in this country we wonder, " Just what are politicians thinking."

I would like to know what you are thinking.

Let's pretend we have a magic wand and you are now President of the United States.  What's the first thing you would do and how would you do it?  What is the number one issue you would tackle as President.

Forget about what we hear from the candidates in political ads and  from the people paid to give their opinions to tell you what to think...what are the issues most important to you and just how would you solve these problems?

I know you have some great ideas.  Let's hear them.  And who knows...maybe if we're lucky, a politician or two will stumble upon this blog and come up with a good idea or two!

If I were to be president, I would put God back as the foundation of the country. When that was taken care of, the rest would fall into place.

I would make it a crime for any government official to have anything at all to do with anything pertaining to large corps. especially no gains at all. Plus make clear that included not owning nor recieving anything from these corps. plus call in old debts from countries that owe us money so we can balance the debt in our country. Last but not least bring our military home where they belong and allow Iraq to clean up there own mess.

Ken Lee; It is Congress that keeps voting down term limits for themselves, actually it never makes it to the floor. They like it there and want to stay as long as possible. When they voted in term limits for the President they should have included Congress. If that would have been the case, there probably wouldn't be term limits for the President either.

I wouldn't even want to be President. Too much stress. You don't get any credit for the good that you've done. Get blamed for everything that is wrong in the world. Are criticized for every move. Can't satisfy anyone. No body will admit voting for you. It just isn't worth all the money it takes to get elected only to be trashed by the media and the opposite party. The 2 party system needs to be done away with. It needs to be 1 "United" system with the good of the whole country as its objective - not the good of the party. Not even the President can change any of this. Only Congress can do it. So go get elected to Congress instead. Think about this. A president can only serve 2 term. How long can a person remain in Congress?

The blog is the President of the United States Rob, not the mayor of Disney World. You need to think on a little larger scale than "if we all put the guns away,we will all feel warm and fuzzy" Guys like you are why we are in this crap to start with. No I am not a Bush-lover. His record stinks and what we have a choice of to replace him is even WORSE! We, as a country, are shafted no matter who wins. If you are wealthy, vote McCain, If you are a "willing" member of the entitlement pool, Vote Obama. If you work for a living, it will not matter either way.

The first thing I would do is fire the entire Congress and Supreme Court. I would appoint people such as coal miners from West Virginia, or a single mom working two jobs in Chicago trying to keep her kids away from criminals. I would have the Secretary of Peace, not defense, devise a plan to pull all US forces out of Iraq, Afghanistan, South Korea, Germany, and anywhere else we have troops. I would then direct the Attorney General to appoint a special prosecutor to eventually charge bush, cheney, rumsfeld, rice, and all of the other conspiritors with treason. Finally, all branches of government would come together to straighten this country out once and for all. Using the military as an instrument of foreign policy would not matter because the armed forces would be abolished. The Department of Peace would actually help bring us all together. I know this will not set well with the neocons and the gun nuts, but it's worth a try.

If I was President, the first thing I would do is declare martial law. Then I would arrest every criminal in the federal government. I would seal the border with a 20' wall from sea to shining sea. There would be a mine field on the outside of the wall for at least 20 yards.Anyone in this country illegally would be given ONE free ride via military transport back to his country of origin, a second time and they would go straight to a prison camp. I would eliminate the IRS. There would be a flat tax and everyone would be taxed on a consumption basis. Illegal drug dealers would go straight to prison, possession would be all there is to it. No need for a trial. If you have it, it belongs to you. The longest anyone would spend on death row would be 6 months. There would be no 'white collar prisons'. Those people would go to the same place as the thugs, no separation. All gang members would be rounded up and sent away as well.
