Where Will Hanna Go?

One thing is for sure...tropical systems have a way of constantly changing.

When I got up early this morning and checked on tropical storm Hanna its projected path had it going into South Carolina.  Thirteen hours later a projected path has it coming closer to Morehead City.  If we keep our fingers crossed maybe it will continue moving east and the eye will stay out to sea!

If you have lived in eastern Carolina, or any other area that typically sees tropical weather, you know a tropical storm can often change its path and intensity up until the moment it makes landfall.  If you're new to the area that is a great piece of information to know.

Just because a storm looks like it is or isn't headed your way doesn't mean that's ultimately what will happen.  The most valuable piece of information I've gathered from covering hurricanes over the years is they are all different and all unpredictable.  That information will serve us well over the next days and perhaps weeks.

As you've heard over and over...don't let your guard down.  And if it turns out a storm or hurricane you thought was headed your way  fizzles out or misses you altogether...don't complain...consider yourself lucky.
