So Much For The Political Experts

My initial reaction to John McCain's pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate was laughter.

My initial reaction to John McCain's pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate was laughter.

My reaction wasn't over whether she is or isn't qualified or experienced enough for the job. I was laughing because it took all of the so-called political experts by surprise. The political pundits, analysts, editorialists, talk show hosts, radio show hosts were all pretty much clueless!

Some quick research shows a couple of these experts did mention Palin's name as someone McCain may want to consider. But overall...she was off the radar for most.

What's the message here? As voters, we need to seek out unbiased neutral reporting based on the facts so that we can then make up own own minds.

One of the reasons I got into this business decades ago was because I was sick and tired of reading newspapers, magazines, watching tv, listening to the radio, and hearing people spew opinion after opinion. I just wanted the news, not someone's paid opinion.

At WITN, we strive everyday to just report the facts and let you form your own opinion. We think it's important that you know you can trust us to carry out that mission. It's not only a pledge I make to you...it's one I made to myself years and years ago.

Now, as far as whether Palin is a good pick? That's a decision you'll have to make after watching WITN and reading witn.com.

I had a big laugh myself. The so called political experts are legends in their own minds. How dare they assume that I turn on my TV to hear their opinons. Am I going to cast my vote because of something they said, I don't think so. I trust them less than those already in office who have allowed our jobs to go overseas, the price of gas to almost equal minimum wage, to let health care & medicine cost get out of reach for many Americans that have worked all their lives and deserve better. I also agree that we have as voters allowed our elected politicians to make choices we don't want, by not speaking up. They are supposed to work for us, be accountable to us, are they not. Maybe we watch to much news. They now have experts on BODY language for the canidates telling us what the canidates really meant to say but didn't. These people are way out there in left field. I wish they would just give the news in a neutral way and give it a break.

I am sick of the republicans trying to put Obama and Biden down, they are not not trying to do any dirty talk about any of the Republicans and if the Republicans were all that and a bag of chips they would nopt have to do use such dirty tricks. For one time why can't they just tell where they stand and let the people decided who will be the winner for the white house. Furthermore did the first President have experience and did you and I have experience when we took our first big job?

I love Sara Palin for Vice-President. I am sick of the media talking about her qualifications. She is "MORE" qualified than Obama is for President. She is a fresh face without the political connections in Washington. Our country needs someone that is looking out for the average American and she is the candidate that is the closest to an ordinary American. "Vote McCain-Palin 08"

I don't know anything about Gov Palin, but I'm sure I'll know all her dirty laundry real soon. However, that is not what I want to know. I agree with you, I just want the news, not dirt. I'm sick of the new media's slant on various topics and sick of this farce of a race for the whitehouse. Have we lost our minds? The cost is outrageous, the length of time involved is much too long and can one or two people really change a deadlocked congress. When are we the votors going to wake up and elect our representatives that will take a stand? How could we have allowed our elected officials sell off the US assets (companies, jobs, land & debt) to other countries. Why does the media continue to show the bad scenarios over and over. I don't normally send these message but this seemed like a good time.
