Tax Free Weekend!

Who isn't excited about having to pay less for supplies kids and others need?

Growing up in Pennsylvania, I became very used to the fact that we didn't have to pay sales tax for a lot of things including clothing.  It wasn't until I graduated from college and moved to West Virginia that I realized sales tax on groceries or clothing!  Let me tell you what, that extra money adds up!  It was so frustrating each time I went to the grocery store and realized that I was paying an extra 5 or 6 dollars for the same things I could've bought in PA with no sales tax.  Obviously, I soon got over this realization and paying the extra money for goods became a way of life.  I'll be honest though and say since I lived so close to the Pennsylvania line, most of my clothing purchases were made in the good ole' Keystone State.

When I moved to North Carolina again sales tax was here, but this time I was prepared having already gone through the initial shock.  I've gotta say I'm pretty excited for this weekend, even though I'm not going back to school I can still pick up a pair of new sneakers which I so desperately need (mine I just noticed are getting holes in the back heels).  Perhaps I'll see you out there, well you and the rest of Eastern North Carolina as I imagine the stores will be packed!

Happy Tax Free Shopping!

Around here the Tax Free weekend is just not worth it...we have few stores to shop, it's payday weekend, too many vehicles and not enough room, and it's blazing hot (tempers flare)....not worth it. I'm staying home and pulling weeds!!

Hey Christine I'm from Pennsylvania as well and miss the no sales tax on clothing! Heck, I miss the whole state! As for the tax free weekend, I'd much rather stay at home and avoid the crowds! GO STEELERS!
