It's often said there are no slow news days. Today was definitely one of those days.
We have been dealing with the wildfires, the smoke from the fires, an explosion and fire in Lenoir County, what appears to be a murder suicide in Rocky Mount and several arrests involving sexual offenses with children. And most of the day details were breaking with all of those stories at the same time.
While I'm not in this business because I enjoy bad news, today was one of those days where a news person loves to be in the newsroom. It was one big story after another. Even as I write this, we're still working on new details on many of these stories.
A busy day indeed...we'll be here ready to do it all again tomorrow!
