Fueling Frustration

Gas prices just keep going up. But we all have some tips to get extra miles per gallon. What are yours?

I noticed gas prices at one particular station at $3.75 a gallon when I left work and headed home around midnight last night . This morning when I took my kids to school around 7:30 a.m. prices at the same station were $3.79 a gallon. The seemingly indiscriminate rise in gas prices is fueling quite a bit of frustration...especially when there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.

While we can continue to shine the light on what's going on and ask questions about why the prices continue to go up, that doesn't help in the short term. So what does? Finding ways to save fuel. And that's where you come in.

We all have tips on how to save some gas. The experts recommend keeping your car in top shape, changing oil and air filters, keeping tires properly inflated and rotated and driving the speed limit. But there certainly are many more fuel saving tips. What proven ways do you have to save on gas, besides not driving? I would like to know. Share you tips with other folks in eastern Carolina by posting them here.

We may not have a choice when it comes to how much we pay, but we can help each other when it comes to getting every mile per gallon possible, turning the fuel frustration into SLIGHTLY happy travels!

.well I hope it goes to $20.00 dollars a gallon. 18 years ago we prevented Saddam Hussein from invading Saudi Arabia and we kicked him out of Kwait. you'd think that the Arabs would be much grateful. But they are not.WHY?? Because we have been treating them like garbage since the 1940's with the 'creation' of Israel. We've been trying to force our political system, our liberal ways and customs upon them. this is just a little econimic war against aimed at the USA and its allies. Venezuela, Russia, Iran and many nations in the middle east produce most of the worlds oil. They all have motives to ruin our economy. Do you blame them? We try to tell Venezuela how their political system should be.We cant get along with the Russians. We tell Iran that they cant build a neclear device, yet is just fine for Israel to have nukes. Add to that the fact that China and India are consumming at an alarming rate.Cilvil war in oil producing nations in Africa and polititians wont allow drilling in USA

I think it is unreasonable to think people can go without buying gas. I think we need to plan trips and slow down. Instead of making several trips, do as much as possible with fewer trips.

conserving gas: Reduce Speed; consolidate trips; maintain proper psi in tires;remove all un-needed weight; run the engine only when needed to be in motion or for nec repairs.
