The time has finally arrived for the digital switch. In less than one week's time we will shut down WITN's analog transmitter for the final time and you will only be able to watch WITN's digital signal.

Over the past months we have been out in the public demonstrating digital television hook-ups using an old analog TV, a digital converter and antenna. While a few people have had questions about digital converter hook-ups, most people have questioned us about the antenna that they use.

So you thought that analog television was going to go away on February 17th. Not here in eastern North Carolina. You can look forward to four more months of digital transition PSA's.

Time is running out on the longest-running medical drama on television. If you haven't watched ER on Thursday nights in awhile, perhaps it's time to tune in once again.

So last year you may have experienced some problems watching the Super Bowl in eastern North Carolina. We doing our best to avoid any chance of an "instant replay" of that problem!

WITN, along with many other television stations across North Carolina, conducted a DTV “Soft Test” on Wednesday night. Even though this was a “soft” test, not everyone got a passing grade.

The countdown to the digital transition for broadcast television is underway. We are now down to 70 days and counting as we move towards February 17, 2009.

We are now six months away from the date when analog broadcasts of WITN will cease. The Federal Communications Commission has set February 17, 2009 as the date when all broadcasters MUST shut off their analog transmitters and broadcast in digital only.
