Bizarre Side Effects Of Pregnancy

What have your experiences been?

There's been a bit of a breakthrough for doctors trying to find a way to treat Melasma.  It's what's known as the "mask of pregnancy"--dark patches in the skin of pregnant women.  Some doctors are trying to use laser resurfacing to treat the splotches.

Melasma is a pretty common side effect of pregnancy, though an unexpected one.  There's much more to carrying a child than just aching backs and getting tired out easily.

One of the most surprising side effects I've dealt with is restless legs and cramps in my calves in the middle of the night.  As with anything that concerns me, I talked to my doctor about some ways to deal and treat these, in the grand scheme of things, minor issues.

On the upside, pregnancy has been great to my hair.  I wish it was as much of a bonus to my skin!

Many moms will agree the ailments that accompany pregnancy are worthwhile burdens to bear in order to bring a baby into the world.
