Registry Recommendations

What's the best thing you decided to put on your baby registry? What do you wish you had on there?

Now that I'm about halfway through my pregnancy, we are starting to look at getting the nursery together.  We're going to pick out a green paint color for the walls, since I think it will work well with either pink or blue.   We've ordered a crib and are getting ready to paint a dresser that Chris used in his bedroom when he was a child.

Alas, getting the nursery furniture in line feels like just scratching the surface.  Most people register for their baby needs as well.  From bibs to bottles, diapers to rubber duckies, we are quickly learning it takes a lot to get ready for baby.

I'd love to hear what you think is an absolute "must" for a baby registry.  Was there anything you wish you registered for if you could turn back the clock?

I liked getting the bath seat in addition to the infant tub. It holds baby up and lets them play or kick in the water. I also liked the amy coe pacifier holder---it makes finding the pacifier alot easier if you don't have the pacifier clippy thing. I also liked the I forget what its called its like a head rest but its for the entire body because that way you know baby is ALWAYS comfortable and warm. Take care and best wishes. When is your due date?

I think a good "must have" is the Bumbo seat! Its more for after your baby can hold his or her head can put it on the table top or floor and feed them! I took mine to restaurants all the time and it was a real lifesaver. It allowed my daughter to get out of the car seat but still be safe and comfortable. At one point I think I even bathed her in it when I was out of town and didnt bring her bath seat!

I would say a bouncy seat. That saved me when I wanted to cook dinner. I would put him in that & he was as happy as a lark. I would also say the breast pump if you are planning on breast feeding. That was also a life saver when I went back to work.

A bouncy seat. I just recently had a baby and she sits in hers most of the day. She just loves it. I suggest you get one that you can adjust, some sit up to straight. She prefers the one that laid back a little. It has been a great help, she is content in it. Good luck!

A sleep sak! Get one with the swaddle piece--it really comforts the baby for the first few months. It's also the only type of blanket that is safe to put in the crib. I have 5 of them on my baby registry!

The one and only thing I'd say I couldn't live without (if you're nursing) was my Medela breast pump, especially once I went back to work! A Boppy pillow is the best and a Baby Bjorn infant carrier makes life so much easier. These 3 things are my top picks! Everyone finds their needs differently, and so much depends on your baby's personality. Our daughter wouldn't have any part of all those great things like swings and bouncy seats! Good luck to you. No one can even begin to tell you what an amazing feeling parenthood will be!
