It's tourney time and there will be teams from North Carolina in the dance however they'll all be from schools west of I-95.
Update: 3/12 - Obviously ECU will not be playing Memphis in the C-USA Tournament. However thanks go out to the Eye Care Center, Pepsi and Suddenlink for their willingness to partner with ISP Sports and WITN if the game had happened. _____________________________________________________ If ECU gets by their first round match-up with the Green Wave, they’ll be staring right into the teeth of the Memphis Tigers. The Conference USA Tournament kicks off Wednesday in Memphis. The Pirates play Tulane at 6pm and the only place you can follow Wednesday’s action is on 107.9FM.
If the Pirates win that one, they will face the 28-3 Tigers on their home floor. Our plan is to team up with ISP Sports to carry the game on WITN’s 24/7 Weather Channel (Over-Air Digital 7.2) on Thursday night at 7pm. Of course that’s assuming the Pirates take care of business Wednesday. As you can tell, this gives us very, very little time to coordinate Thursday’s programming. We’re planning to pick up the Comcast Sports feed of the game. I'd like to thank Jeff and Tom Minges and Pepsi along with Gary Harris and Dr. David Fitzgerald of The Eye Care Center for helping us to bring the game (if it happens) to Pirate fans throughout Eastern North Carolina.
While I would never be crazy enough to pick this upset, I can safely say that if Mack’s crew pulls it off, it would surely rank as ECU’s biggest Conference USA win ever. There can be no madness without a win this Thursday night. I hope you’ll be able to watch the game on the WITN 24/7 Weather Channel.
