I got great feedback on my Losing It series in which I dropped 5 pounds and showed you some workout and eating tips, but there are other ways to live a longer fuller life that don't involve the gym or a food journal. Follow me for the next 28 days for easy changes that could change your life.

Have you already fallen of the resolution wagon? Every day is a new opportunity for a fresh start, so forget the grand promises to yourself (I'll go to the gym every day), and follow me on this blog for the next 28 days for simple every day changes that anyone can do.

I got great feedback on my Losing It series in which I dropped 5 pounds and showed you some workout and eating tips. Once you've tried to lose weight or stay in shape, you know there's no real secret to it. You have to exercise regularly and eat well. You have to track what you eat and don't cheat. Every diet plan works if you follow it.

There are other ways to live a longer fuller life that don't involve the gym or a food journal. This Fresh Start blog is about everyday changes that anyone can accomplish. I took the idea from Dr. Oz and O Magazine. So follow along with me and see if you feel better in 28 days.

It's February 3rd, so let's get going with 3 changes:

1) Drink green tea. It has powerful antioxidants and is associated with a lower risk of cancers, can lower bad LDL cholesterol and promote weight loss. There are delicious blends if it is too bitter for your taste.

2)Eat dark chocolate. That's right! Everything in moderation of course, but studies show flavonols found in cocoa improve circulation and blood flow to the brain and could actually help you see more clearly.

3)Cook for your heart. Try at least one of these easy to find items in your menu today. -Salmon: full of omega-3s which lower triglycerides which can help prevent blood clotting. Tomatoes: can help lower blood pressure. Garlic: thought to protect against hardening of arteries which can lead to stroke or heart disease. Lima beans: 1 cup contains about 30% of the recommended dietary daily allowance of magnesium- triggering vasodilation easing the strain on your heart.

I've drank green tea the past few days and it curbs my appetite at work. I don't feel like snacking anymore. I have a cool little tea pot to make brewing at work easy. You can also just stick a teabag in a cup of hot water. I already love dark chocolate and try to just have a piece of dark chocolate if I have a sweet tooth craving. I made some delicious salsa which makes me feel good about snacking too. Salmon is for dinner tonight.

Day 4 requires no ingredients, just your mind, spirit and heart. Stay tuned!
