Disqus Fails To Load

A recent upgrade to Disqus, which powers the witn.com commenting sections, provided many bug-fixes and features. It also caused some commenters to go slient.

The upgrade blocked many older web browsers, including Internet Explorer 7. Disqus will probably never restore access for these older browsers, but some users with Internet Explorer 8 found that they were shut out, too. Affected users saw the Disqus section start to load, and load, and load, and never finish loading.

After a lot of head-scratching and troubleshooting, we think we've found the cause and the solution. Many of the affected users had selected "Compatibility View" for witn.com. See the image below for exactly where that button is located. 

If you're having problems viewing comments on witn.com, try clicking this button. The web page will re-load and comments should work normally. We hope this fixes the problem for anyone that was previously shut out.

Another Issue: Yahoo Logins

For some reason, Disqus no longer allows logins using a Yahoo account. They're not saying why they did this, but they say they are still gathering feedback for future improvements.
