Another Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

It's another nice day for the east. It sounds like a broken record, but we can live with it.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I think that's from Mister Rogers Neighborhood. It certainly applies to the weather we've been seeing lately. Our pattern is locked in place for several days, thanks to what's called an "omega block", meaning the shape of the Omega symbol. We have a trough of low pressure in the western part of the country, a ridge of high pressure over the east, and another trough of low pressure off the New England coast. This "blocky" pattern can persist for several days, thus the beautiful weather.

As low pressure begins to drift to the south and southeast, there could be some clouds filtering into the Outer Banks the middle part of the week, with showers expected to stay well offshore. The flow will remain out of a northerly direction for the next several days. We will see typical early November weather for eastern Carolina really until further notice. Morning lows will be primarily in the low and mid 40s, with afternoon high temperatures in the middle and sometimes upper 60s. The next chance for any precipitation won't be until next week sometime. But until then, enjoy!!
