We often see and hear about the devastating, tragic and sad effects from cancer. Sunday was a much different story in Washington.
The Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center held a "Survivor's Got Talent" event at First Church of Christ as part of National Cancer Survivor's day. I was lucky enough to be asked to be one of the judges.
My job was actually pretty simple. That's because all of the participants were winners. The panel of judges simply got a chance to tell them.
The event was as much about these cancer survivor's showing off their talents, as it was celebrating their life...and remembering those who battled cancer and are no longer with us.
These survivor's were a real inspiration as they sang, danced, juggled and played musical instruments. Their message of hope came through loud and clear during Sunday's showcase...which just might turn out to be their hidden talent for others facing this dreaded disease.
