The Saturday we just had in the 90's has me longing for the return of the summer weather and trips to the beach.
Whether it's an extended stay, or just a drive down to the coast for the day, being in the sun, sand and surf is one of the most enjoyable and relaxing times for my family.
During Easter break, we took advantage of the unusually hot weather and headed down to Harker's Island and onto a ferry to head over to Cape Lookout. The weather was perfect...and it was only April.
As we took the ferry over to the island, we were lucky enough to see the wild Shackleford Horses that inhabit the area. We all marveled as the horses paid no attention to us and made their way through the water as well. When we made it to Cape Lookout, we were treated to dolphins splashing around out in the water.
As we head into mid-May, you can just feel summer calling. For me and my family...that means more trips to the beach and the adventures that lie ahead.
