Report: Pregnant 66-Year-Old English Woman

Reports state a 66-year-old woman in England is going to have a baby.

The woman is reportedly eight months pregnant and traveled to another country to have fertility treatments.

She is described as a "career woman." Reports say she will be a "first-time" mom.

The case re-energizes a debate that escalated with the "Octo-Mom".... should there be restrictions on fertility treatments, based on items like age, number of kids and station in life?

We hope you'll comment on this blog to share your thoughts, which may be used on WITN News.

At least she is old enough to take care of her baby. What about some of these baby's having baby's.They don't have a chance.I think God gave her a blessing. It may not have been in the traditional sense of the word, but we know the baby will be taken care of.

Why would someone wait until she was 66yrs old to have a baby? It's hard enough to raise children while you're still thriving. I am not yet 40 and I'm having a hard time chasing after my 3yr old. I wish her the best of luck, but you could'nt pay to have a child at that age.

she is very brave and i am sure this baby is wanted very much and will have alot more love and care than a baby who is not wanted even if the woman was in her 20's, people who critisize are not all perfect themselves and in this world we all different and have the right to live and believe in what we want there is no strict rules or there should not be in cases ,if this was a man no one would bat an eyelid ,what is the difference???????????????????

This child will probably not be old enough to drive to her mothers funeral.

Children ARE a gift from God. This is his gift to her. If God thought it was wrong, he wouldn't make it possible for her to have this done. We are all here for a reason. We can't ponder on how we got here or look back and criticize the less than traditional ways of bringing children into this earth. If the lady is healthy and carries the baby to term, that is what God wanted. I agree with Linda. There's still a hunger crisis going on in the world, anonymous. Focus your energies on something like that. That is one area where you can truly make a difference and please God. But don't judge his children.

I have to disagree with "anonymous." I think that no child is born without an ultimate plan. God has a plan for this child or this child wouldn't be here (with or without a mom). Women have children when they are 18 or 20 and don't live to see them grow up. They may die from various causes. Who are we to judge? Save that for God.

A baby is a gift from God, the 66-year-old lady shouldn't had fertility treatments. Bringing a child in this world this way, isn't right. The child will need it's mother and the lady may not be around to raise the child like the child should and give the proper care. If it she got pregnant the mutual way, then that's a sign from God, that's his will I believe.

Kay Bailey Hutchison, a Republican Senator from Texas, adopted two children when she was 58 years old and carrying on a full-time career as a Senator (now preparing to run for Governor of Texas). no one uttered a peep of complaint when she and her then-69 year old husband adopted.
