The weather we've been seeing since Friday and into this weekend is reminding me of when I lived in Seattle, Washington. When I resided in the Northwest folks out there would say "it rains a little a lot". This is true to some degree. For the entire summer we didn't see a drop of rain in Seattle. Mt. Rainier was "out" as they say... the whole summer and you could see Mt. Baker as well. Then October rolled around...and the weather rolled in. Low clouds...light rain... drizzle...and a chill to go along with it. Although we're enduring a few days of this in eastern Carolina...it lasts for pretty much the entire winter out there. Locals say it's really not all that bad when you get used to it. My response was yeah...not bad if you're a frog...duck...something like that. When I first moved out there I was impressed by how lush it was with green everywhere....with towering trees. Now I know why. It rains a lot. Most folks who live up there don't mind the climate..they say it keeps the Californians away. Ha...don't know about that. So even though we're seeing several days of clouds and rain in eastern Carolina...keep in mind it's great to see the rain with the warm season just around the corner. Also don't have to worry about fire danger when it's like this..and we remain abnormally dry according to the last drought monitor. We'll see if that continues.
