The 70°s Were Nice...But Now They're Gone...For A While

The mild temperatures we had for the past few days are gone for a while. A cooler wetter pattern is on the way.

Being from the north..I'm not used to budding trees around Valentine's Day...amazing!! I guess the plant-life couldn't resist temperatures in the 60°s and 70°s in the last few days...but they may regret it for the week ahead. Our pattern will resemble a more normal mid-February pattern with high temperatures in the 40°s and 50°s. The overnight lows will dip below freezing from time to time..which could nip some of those new buds. Sunday night...we'll see a storm system slide to our south and there could be enough cold air around to change some light rain to light snow Monday morning..but it's looking like a minor system. A more significant storm will take aim on us Wednesday into Thursday..with rain likely and milder conditions. Although the toasty temperatures are gone for a while...we'll reduce the chances for fires with the cooler and wetter weather expected.
