If one man has his way you'll soon see "Hooters Guys" alongside the "Hooters Girls."
Nikolai Grushevski of Corpus Christi, Texas has filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against Hooters, claiming he applied for a serving position and was denied because he's a male.
Grushevski's Attorney Martin Shellist says, "Hooters attempts to circumvent the law by referring to its waiters as 'Hooters Girls'."
"I think we've got a strong case. I think if you take Hooters' logic to the extreme, it violates the law at every point. I think it's unfair."
Hooters says this dispute has already been settled by a federal court ruling in the 90's that said Hooters was allowed to only employ girls as "Hooters Girls."
So what do you think? Is it discrimination, or is Grushevski just hoping to win some money through a lawsuit. Is it alright that some jobs can only be for a specific gender?
The bottom line may really be this...do Hooters customers want to be served by "Hooters Guys!"
