Man Sues To Work At Hooters!

If one man has his way you'll soon see "Hooters Guys" alongside the "Hooters Girls."

If one man has his way you'll soon see "Hooters Guys" alongside the "Hooters Girls."

Nikolai Grushevski of Corpus Christi, Texas has filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against Hooters, claiming he applied for a serving position and was denied because he's a male.

Grushevski's Attorney Martin Shellist says, "Hooters attempts to circumvent the law by referring to its waiters as 'Hooters Girls'."

"I think we've got a strong case. I think if you take Hooters' logic to the extreme, it violates the law at every point. I think it's unfair."

Hooters says this dispute has already been settled by a federal court ruling in the 90's that said Hooters was allowed to only employ girls as "Hooters Girls."

So what do you think? Is it discrimination, or is Grushevski just hoping to win some money through a lawsuit. Is it alright that some jobs can only be for a specific gender?

The bottom line may really be this...do Hooters customers want to be served by "Hooters Guys!"

First he'll have to prove he was denied employment because he was a man. Hooters does have men working as cooks, and I doubt they were stupid enough to send him a written notice that they weren't hiring him simply because he was a male. Now, while I can't recall the exact law, there is some tolerance for "gender specific" positions. When I'm crowned King of the World we won't have to worry about morons like Grushevski. It is obvious to me that Grushevski applied at Hooters simply to be able to sue later.

If one reads the Civil Rights Act of 1964, then the answer is simple. Hooters is not the only business doing this. Its basically an open and shut case if the court reads straight from the law. This can also apply to anything where female or male is separated by gender. Gyms, sports teams, and even strip clubs. The only way around this law is to have two sides under one ownership under one roof, one for women and one for men. But of course courts and goverment has never been too good at strict enforcement of our rights and constitution. Once we figure out how to play and win by 'their rules', they rewrite the rules so they keep winning.

Is this for real? They can hire the guy as a cook. Cooks make good money at Hooters. By the way if you get a chance, try the breaded Samurai wings they are awesome. Make sure you order water. They charge like 2.15 for a tea. RIP OFF!! But hey you gotta love those Hooters AM I RIGHT GUYS I GOT THE NEWS FOR THEM!!! AHAHAHAHA YeA!!!

WOW! I honestly think this guy wants money. In 1997 a group of guys did the same thing this guy is trying to do and they got money for it. If I were the manager, I'd hire him and make him wear the uniform, not a specially made one for him, but the short shorts and tank top. He can't sue for not liking the required uniform.
