In anticipation for this weekend's ECU/Memphis game, I was checking out some posts on Boneyard Banter and saw one that I wanted to share on our website. The game is not available on cable or satellite in Wilmington so Pirate fans down in New Hanover County drive north until they can find a sports bar that carries WITN. The consensus is that Mako's will carry the game and that "they take good care of us."
I got an e-mail from a Pirate fan in Fayetteville asking me what the closest sports bar to Fayetteville would be. I don't know sports bars in Duplin County or Wayne County so I couldn't help him, but if you have any ideas, feel free to toss a comment on this blog.
One more football note before I wrap up here: In addition to the ECU/Memphis game on WITN 7.1, we'll also be carrying the USF/University of Florida game at the same time on WITN 7.2/My Network as part of our SEC Network coverage. While my first hope is to see the second win of the Ruffin McNeill era this Saturday, I am pulling for Skip and his new team to shock the crowd in the Swamp.
