UPDATE: Roadways Closed Because Of High Water
Roadways in Eastern Carolina are closed due to high water. Roads in Bertie, Duplin, Lenoir and Martin counties are impacted.

High water is impacting some roads in Eastern Carolina. A list of road reports from the NC DOT is below.

BERTIE COUNTY:

As of 11:30 a.m. Saturday, SR-1228 in Bertie County near Powellsville is closed in both directions because of high water. Conditions are not expected to improve until February 8, according to the DOT.

Drivers can detour by following SR 1200 from intersection of SR 1228 to US 13 and then follow US 13 to Ahoskie.


DUPLIN COUNTY:

As of 6:20 p.m. Saturday, SR-1154 in Duplin County west of Wallace is being impacted by flooding. DOT says the conditions are expected to last through February 8. The road is closed (local traffic only) from the intersection of NC Highway 41 to the intersection of SR 1155 (Shaw Road) due to flooding.


LENOIR COUNTY:

As of 3:00 p.m. Saturday, SR-1803 Northbound in Lenoir County, east of Kinston was closed. The DOT said conditions are not expected to improve until February 10. They say a culvert is damaged from recent
rainfall.


MARTIN COUNTY:

As of noon Saturday, SR-1511, Tar Landing Road, is closed in both drections in Martin County near Jamesville because of flooding. The DOT said conditions are not expected to improved until February 7.
For detour, take SR 1595 Jones Road, SR 1510 Reason Road and SR 1514 Fairview Church Road or Take Hwy 171, SR 1510 Mill Road and SR 1514 Fairview Church Road.

If we can get the NCWildlife,, folks to get off their butts and get rid of the beavers,,instead of trying write everyone a ticket about shooting a duck, or a possum out of season we could get rid of a lot of this excess water,, the creeks are backed up,,, ,,,help us

In Bertie Co. Early Station RD is closed.

If the ncwildlife,, would get in the creeks and blow up all the beaver damns,,the water would drain and we would not have these problems
