The NC Department of Prisons has reassigned the man who was the adminstrator of Bertie Correctional Institution in Windsor.

Anthony Hathaway III has been reassigned to the Greenville office within the Division of Prisons, according to Keith Acree, the public information officer for the department.

Acree says Willie Davis, the assistant superintendent at Bertie Correctional Institution, is now in charge.

Acree would not comment on why Hathaway was reassigned. When asked, Acree responded, "It is a personnel matter, and I will not discuss that."

The reassignment of Hathaway follows a former correctional officer at Bertie Correctional Institution getting charged for having sex with an inmate.

Tameka Mebane told WITN she did have two-month relationship with a prison inmate. Mebane says the inmate is not the father of the baby she is carrying. Windsor police say Mebane admitted the inmate was the father during a police interview.

Finally! Lets just hope that ALL things that Hathaway covered up are looked into. The investigations that he would assign on workplace harassment and then wouldnt even release the staffs statements for the investigatation, so there went another swept under the rug. If you were one of Hathaways "people" or "girls" you didnt have anything to worry about, you could get caught as a sgt. with drugs in your car and maybe a year later get promoted to asst. unit manager. Come on people open your eyes Hathaway is to blame for alot that happened and is still happening at BCI. If he would have took corrective action from the git-go then alot of this would have been "nipped in the bud" along time ago. He was not ready to run a 1000 man max security prison, after all did he even ever work in atleast a close custody prison? Come on now there are alot of people at blame here but Hathaway has always, since BCI opened its doors been a man of a thousand cover ups!!!!
