20 years ago Monday the Berlin Wall was knocked down and communism toppled in Germany.
The anniversary was celebrated by a group of students at East Carolina University Monday afternoon.
The ECU libertarians built their own Berlin Wall to celebrate 20 years of freedom in Germany on Wright Plaza Monday.
The campus political organization spoke with students throughout the day with the purpose of educating their fellow classmates on the 10 planks of Communism, according to Carl Marx.
Director, Jesse Mignogna hopes the event will inform people that communism is still alive despite the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989.
Students were invited to write messages of freedom on the cardboard constructed wall.
