Protesters topple Confederate Statue 'Silent Sam' on UNC campus

Hundreds of protesters gathered at the Peace and Justice Plaza Monday night on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, calling for the removal of the controversial "Silent Sam" statue.

A group of men in blue was the background to Monday's Greenville City Council meeting, a show of support for police officers just hours after the news of a lawsuit filed by 2 current and 1 former GPD Officers against Councilwoman Kandie Smith, who was notably absent from Monday's meeting.

A Colorado man told police that he killed his pregnant wife for strangling their daughters after he sought a separation.
